Generation Leather Backpack

We love the way natural vegetable-tanned leather looks, feels and ages. To create a leather that’s lighter, more waterproof and more sustainable, we worked with a tannery in the Netherlands to reinvent the way leather is tanned and used. We started with a calfskin leather from northern Europe – the best hides we can find and a farming byproduct.

We use a tanning technology that uses only the water in the hide, minimising waste water and chemical use. The result is a buttery smooth leather that feels great from day one. Light yet tough, it acquires a beautiful patina over time, giving the leather a warmer, softer look.

We add waterproofing during the tanning process, so it permeates the entire hide of leather. This means the leather stays waterproof, unlike leathers with a waterproof coating that wears off over time. And when you touch the leather, you always feel the leather.

Beneath the minimalist exterior lies a universe of thoughtfully engineered pockets for easy organisation. A zipped and padded section protects your 16-inch laptop or tablet and business papers. Stretchable pockets secure your phone, passport, and pens, even when upside down. Mesh compartments for an at-a-glance view of your tech essentials, plus a bottle holder and a zipped valuables pocket with key leash for enhanced security. Each is a testament to our commitment to creating a seamless experience, ensuring everything you need is within easy reach.

For the perfect fit, the shoulder straps are sculpted to contour around your body and distribute weight evenly, so you feel liberated from gravity. The cushioned back panel, built in 3D breathable mesh, promotes air circulation to keep you cool and dry from dawn until dusk.
