We're Abel and Samuel, the founders of Troubadour.

We first crossed paths working in London, and became friends over a shared love of endurance sports, from marathons in Paris to triathlons in Brazil and the Otillo swim-run race in Sweden. Just one thing spoiled these adventures: our clunky, uncomfortable bags were a nightmare to lug around. They were heavy, awkward, and frankly, a bit ugly.

Our curiosity kicked in…

How could we create the kind of bags we’d love to use ourselves? Weekends were spent at a bag-making course in London, and we used our holiday time to discover the best material producers in Europe. Leather tanneries tucked away in Tuscan valleys. Zipper makers with a centuries-long heritage of precision engineering.

These people inspired us to create something special.

We teamed up with caring, hard-working and talented people, like Samantha Jacob, our creative director. Together, we’ve constantly pushed against the norm, learning from many bumps along the way and listening carefully to feedback from the most important people of all – the folks who use our bags.

Fast forward to today…

Our bags are super-functional, comfy and at the forefront of sustainable design. 95% percent of our products by weight are made from recycled materials, and our award-winning, recyclable Orbis bags set a new benchmark as the world’s first fully circular bag collection.
